The trading day resets at 5:00 pm New York time every day, matching the New York close. It follows US daylight saving time, so in UTC it moves by one hour during the year.
Time zone | US summer time (Mar to Nov) | US winter time (Nov to Mar) |
New York | 5:00 pm EDT | 5:00 pm EST |
UTC | 21:00 | 22:00 |
Central Europe (Italy, Germany, France) | 23:00 | 23:00 |
UK | 22:00 | 22:00 |
For a few weeks in March and in late October/November, Europe and the US change clocks on different dates, so the European time can be one hour earlier.
You never need to calculate it: the dashboard shows a live countdown to the reset and the time in your own time zone (callout 3 in the picture below). Daily loss limits, profitable days, consistency and the Analytics journal all use this daily cycle.
